KAWARTHA CHARITY RIDERS RIDING CLUB – STEAK & BJ RAFFLE RULES
The RAFFLE is open only to those who purchase a “spot” on the “Wheel of Names” from a Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club Member, through e-transfer to [email protected] or by messaging the Facebook page (@SupportKawarthaCharityRiders) and who are nineteen (19) years of age or older as of date of entry. The RAFFLE is open to everyone. Entrants that are not “local” to Kawartha Lakes, may be responsible for shipping fees if they win a prize.
By participating, the Entrant (“You”) agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Rules, and You represent and warrant that You meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, You agree to accept the decisions of The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club as final and binding as it relates to the content of this RAFFLE.
Entries will be accepted online starting on February 16th, 2021, 12:00 pm EST and ending March 12th, 2021, 5:00 pm. All online entries must be received by March 12th, 2021, 5:00 pm
The RAFFLE must be entered by purchasing a “spot” on the “Wheel of Names”. The entry must fulfill all requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. “Spots” must be paid for by the deadline of the RAFFLE. “Spots” that have not been paid for by the deadline or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be removed from the “Wheel of Names” at the sole discretion of The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club. You may purchase as many “spots” as you want. If you win a prize, that single “spot” will be removed from the “Wheel of Names” for any subsequent prizes.
The Winner(s) of the Raffle will receive:
6 tomahawk steaks ($280), 3L bottle of Bacardi ($120), 3L bottle of Jack Daniels ($120). Total Prize Value = $520.
2 T-Bone Steaks ($30), 750mL bottle of Bacardi ($30), 750mL bottle of Jack Daniels ($40). Total Prize Value = $100.
1 Sirloin Steak ($15), 6 cans of Bacardi Spice & Cola ($18), 6 cans of Jack Daniel’s & Cola ($18). Total Prize Value = $51.
1 Salisbury Steak Dinner ($5), 200mL bottle of Bacardi ($10), 200mL bottle of Jack Daniel’s ($10). Total Prize Value = $25.
Actual/appraised value may differ at time of prize award. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club’s discretion. The prize is non-transferable. All prize-related expenses, including without limitation all federal, provincial, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of Winner. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by Winner is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club to use Winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation.
The odds of winning depend on the number of “spots” purchased.
Winner will be selected by spinning a wheel at www.wheelofnames.com under the supervision of The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club. Winner will be notified by Facebook Message, email, or telephone within five (5) days following selection of Winner. The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club shall have no liability for Winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail, or other security settings or for Winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within 90 days from the time award notification was sent, the prize may be forfeited, and an alternate Winner selected. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY WINNER (AT THE KAWARTHA CHARITY RIDERS RIDING CLUB‘S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE CAMPAIGN, AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.
By entering this content (e.g., photo, video, text, etc.), You understand and agree that The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club, anyone acting on behalf of The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club, and The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club’s licensees, successors, and assigns, shall have the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the World, without limitation, your entry, name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image, statements about the Campaign, and biographical information for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes. without any further compensation, notice, review, or consent.
The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Campaign should virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Campaign. In such case, The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club may select the Winner from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club. The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the RAFFLE or website or violates these Terms & Conditions. The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the RAFFLE, to void votes for any reason, including, but not limited to: multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by Campaign rules; or the use of bots, macros, scripts, or other technical means for entering.
By entering, You agree to release and hold harmless The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) such entrant’s participation in the Campaign and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries.
As a condition of participating in this RAFFLE, the entrant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this RAFFLE, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Lindsay, Ontario having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances shall participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees, other than participant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this Campaign). Participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
The Sponsor of the Campaign is The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club. All monies collected will be donated (after expenses) to a local family(ies) or organization(s) as determined by The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club.
The RAFFLE hosted by The Kawartha Charity Riders Riding Club is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook.
LITTLE WORR-IORS RIDE EVENT RULES
Must be legally registered and have a valid vehicle license plate in place. Proof of registration must be shown if required.
Vehicle must have valid insurance. Participants must carry insurance/proof of insurance as required by the laws of the province/state in which their vehicle is registered.
Participants driving/riding a vehicle must hold a valid driver’s license, with the proper endorsements.
All participants will obey the traffic laws of their respective province/state.
Participants riding a motorcycle for this event are required to wear a helmet, in the manner for which it was designed and the helmet must be DOT or Snell approved. This is required for all riders and passengers while participating in this event. This requirement is applicable regardless of provincial/state regulations.
All participants must sign a waiver acknowledging all risks/releases, as required by the Kawartha Charity Riders RC.
Vehicles must comply with all applicable Federal and Provincial requirements.
Failure to comply with any of the Participant/Vehicle Requirements prior or during the event will result in a DNF (Did Not Finish) for the Participant and will be deemed a withdrawal from the event. No refund of entry fees will be issued this case.
Participants may take part in this event without the use of a vehicle. Those participants are required to follow the laws of their respective province/state. If the participant is a passenger in/on a vehicle, they are responsible for ensuring the driver/rider of the vehicle has complied with all Participant/Vehicle Requirements. Failure to do so may result in a disqualification in the event. In this case No Refund of entry fees will be issued.
All Participants are expected to always act in an appropriate manner during the event.
Any attempt to cheat, even to the degree that you do not understand the rules, can result in penalties up to and including immediate disqualification.
To claim the points associated with the HUNT ITEMS, you must provide photo proof as described in the HUNT LIST. Photo proof is required to be posted in the event Facebook Group page. Further proof may be required if requested by the Kawartha Charity Riders RC.
To claim the BONUS points, participants must first complete the HUNT ITEM described in the HUNT LIST. Photo or Video proof as requested is required to be posted in the event Facebook Group page. Further proof may be required if requested by the Kawartha Charity Riders RC.
Participants are required to submit their score cards by e-mail to [email protected] within the 24 hours following the event. Failure to do so will result in a 500 point penalty. Late submissions may disqualify you from claiming a prize if the winners have already been announced. All score cards will be checked against posts in the Event Facebook Group, you may be required to explain your results if requested by the Kawartha Charity Riders RC. Only points validated by the Kawartha Charity Riders RC will be awarded to the participant.
Participants will be held accountable and responsible for the actions of persons accompanying the Participant even if those persons are not participating in the Rally. A violation of these rules by a person or group associated with a Participant will be treated the same as if the rider personally violated the rules.
Wheelies, burnouts, excessive revving and other similar conduct by a Participant or a guest of a Participant will result in immediate disqualification of the Participant and guest(s) from the event and may result in a ban of participation in all Kawartha Charity Rider RC events.
YOU MAY BE DISQUALIFIED FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ACTS.
Failure to render aid to a participant or the public under emergency or life-threatening conditions.
Violation of any of the Rules set forth herein.
Kawartha Charity Rider RC events are NOT RACES. Excessive speeding will not be tolerated.
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FOR RECKLESS DRIVING/RIDING OR EXCESSIVE SPEED.
Acts that harm the reputation of the Kawartha Charity Riders including but not limited to damaging property, non-payment of services rendered, or products purchased, and acts that result in negative publicity for the event, donation recipients or the Kawartha Charity Riders RC such as littering at event locations and/or checkpoints.
Acts that endanger the public, spectators or participants.
Discourtesy to any volunteers, workers, directly or indirectly involved with the event. Please remember that the Kawartha Charity Riders RC do not employ anyone to help with events and all event staff are volunteers.
Excessive citations or gross misconduct.
Defacing, damaging or otherwise tampering with any event related item, including but not limited to removing a road sign or altering any identification related item, such as a Participant’s HUNT FLAG.
Submitting a photo using another participant’s HUNT FLAG. In this case, both the owner of the HUNT FLAG and the Participant using it will be disqualified.
If the HUNT LIST Item requires you to “Take a photo of yourself eating food from a food truck” or get “photo of a time stamped receipt” The clear intention of the HUNT LIST Item is for the Participant to “purchase” the food or to “purchase” an item to get the receipt. Asking someone else for their food or receipt for the photo proof will be considered cheating and may result in penalties or disqualification. No refund of entry fees will be issued.
If there are time or date restrictions on a HUNT LIST Item or BONUS, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure that the time on the receipt you obtain for proof is correct (in most cases, if the variance is less than 10 minutes it will be rounded to the closest hour.)
Always make sure that the HUNT LIST Item, HUNT FLAG and/or receipts are clearly visible in the photo. Any photo that is not clear will not be validated and do not qualify for points.
Every Participant will be issued a HUNT FLAG prior to the start of the event. Each HUNT FLAG will be unique to the Participant to whom it is issued. In the event a rider loses their HUNT FLAG, the Participant will have to find a place to reprint their HUNT FLAG to carry on collecting points for the event.
Each Participant must post their own photos to the Event Facebook Group. In the case of a Participant not having access to Facebook, another Participant may post the pictures for them. These posts must be separate from their own posts and must clearly state the name and HUNT FLAG number of the Participant they are posting for.
PHOTO SUBMISSION AND POSTS
All photos must show the Participant, HUNT FLAG, and the item from the HUNT LIST.
All photos must be posted in the Event Facebook Group during the 24 hours of the event.
All posts must be submitted correctly. Incorrect posts may be subject to penalties.
Kawartha Charity Riders RC reserves the right to use all photos submitted for future promotions or as they say fit.
WEATHER & ROAD CONDITIONS
This event is Rain or Shine. If you are participating on a motorcycle, prepare for inclement weather with the proper gear. Riding a motorcycle is not a specific requirement for this event. You may use an alternate vehicle in really bad weather conditions. There will be no leeway on time limits due to bad weather.
No leeway on time limits is given for bad weather. This is part of the planning process. HUNT LIST Items are vague and can be found anywhere. You can opt to wait out bad weather as it blows through or choose a route that bypasses the storm cell(s).
The Kawartha Charity Riders RC does not imply any specific route or roads for this event. All routes/roads taken is the decision of the Participant. The Kawartha Charity Riders RC is not responsible for any damage or bodily harm caused by the conditions of the road.
No leeway on time limits is given for road conditions, including but not limited to road construction, traffic delays of any kind, law enforcement activities, and traffic at HUNT LIST Item locations.
No persons other than members of the Kawartha Charity Riders RC shall have the authority to change or alter these rules. Participants are advised that any event volunteers do not have the power to grant exemptions or variances to these rules.
Directions and instructions provided by the Kawartha Charity Riders RC at any point before or during the event either in person or by post in Event Facebook Group supersedes these written rules for that event.
All disputes under these rules shall be resolved by the Executive Officers of the Kawartha Charity Riders RC, whose decision shall be FINAL.
Participants may withdraw from the event at any time for any reason. Participants withdrawing from the event shall not be entitled to any refund of the entry fee.
Participants shall report to any member of the Kawartha Charity Riders RC any rules violations of which they become aware. Participants shall cooperate with any investigation by the Kawartha Charity Riders RC into suspected rules violations.
